Helping Volunteers Build a Better Talladega County

APPLICATION OVERVIEW

Please review this packet in full before continuing on to the application.
TCVP offers grants of up to $1,000 for new or one-time projects that support our mission and promote volunteerism across Talladega County.

Applications are accepted January 15 – October 31
Grants are reviewed and awarded quarterly

⚠️ Note: Grants will not be awarded for general operations, salaries, or ongoing expenses.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Please be prepared with the following information. Once you begin the application, you must complete it. You can not save the information for later. You will be asked to submit your application materials in the order below: This application process time varies with each applicant please be prepared to spend a minimum of 1 hour to complete all the information needed. (if you prepare ahead of time and gather all of the necessary information listed below, this process may take less time.)

1. Organization Summary

Include the following:

  1. Full Organization Name

  2. Contact Name, Phone Number, and Email Address

  3. Mission or Purpose of your organization

  4. Proof of nonprofit or community-service status (501(c)(3) or equivalent) (download)

  5. Brief Description of major activities

  6. Number of Paid Staff (Full and Part-Time)

  7. Number of Volunteers

  8. List of Board Members or Officers

2. Project Proposal

Clearly outline:

  1. Purpose of the program or project

  2. Description of the project: what will be done, who will benefit

  3. Impact on Talladega County residents

  4. Detailed Project Budget including:

    • Requested Amount

    • All sources of funding (including this request)

    • All anticipated expenses

    • A description of how funds will be used and why each item is necessary

3. Project Timeline

Include key action steps, start/end dates, and an estimated timeline for:

  • Project implementation

  • Completion

  • Final evaluation/report to TCVP

4. Project Uniqueness

Does your project duplicate services offered by another organization? If so, how is yours different or complementary?

5. Program Promotion

How will you promote this program in the community?

  • Will you promote TCVP as a funder?

  • Will you share project success with local leaders, elected officials, or the public?

🔄 Note: TCVP’s logo is available upon request and should be included in all flyers, ads, or media about the funded project.

6. Public Acknowledgment

Include this sentence in all publicity materials:
“This project is funded through assistance from the Talladega County Volunteer Program (TCVP).”

OTHER REQUIREMENTS & INFORMATION

Payment & Evaluation

  • Notification of Award will be made with-in business 7 days of the Board’s Decision.

  • Payments will be issued within 30 days of TCVP Board approval.

  • A Final Evaluation Report is due within 30 days of project completion.

  • Photo opportunities for check presentations are encouraged and appreciated.

Important Dates

  • Applications Accepted: January 15 – October 31

  • Grants Awarded: Quarterly (February, May, August, November)

  • Applications should be submitted at least 7 days before board meetings.

Unused Funds

Any unused or misapplied funds must be returned with your final evaluation.

Grant Limits

Organizations may be limited in how often they can receive funding and may be asked to sit out for a year.

What Happens Next?

Our Board meets quarterly—typically in February, May, August, and November—to review all applications.
You will be notified of the Board’s decision after the next scheduled meeting.
